cratehugeMercury Racing earned the 2013 Global Media Award at the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas for its QC4v crate engine targeted at the automotive market. The crate engine is based off the same platform as the Fond Du Lac, Wis., company’s 1,100- 1,350 and 1,650-hp turbocharged high-performance marine engines.

“We are honored to be recognized by SEMA and the international media for our new QC4v crate engine,” said Rick Mackie, Mercury Racing’s senior marketing manager, in a press release from the company. “We are excited to explore the various applications for our new product in domestic and international markets,”

The SEMA Global Media Awards Program recognizes companies that manufacture specialty equipment products and accessories that would have mass appeal to consumers throughout the world. The products are voted on by a prestigious group of international journalists who serve as judges.
